Interviews
What have some of you said about IoT?
Most of us define the concept of IoT in terms of computers, tablets and smartphones.
Therefore, it is clear that the infancy of IoT is the connection of people via the internet.

What did the experts say about IoT?
In recent years, there has been a trend for the internet to be used not only by humans, but also by a class of devices and machines. Therefore, at the initial conception of the idea, according to the interview with Professor Aristotle Tympas (2023), the most relevant term could be the Internet of “Devices”, where information arises and enters the Internet not only from people, but also from devices (technology). We then move to the home environment, where the user, while doing something else, can receive messages from the devices and then give commands to them and control them remotely. Afterwards there was a shifting from eco-devices to other areas such as work (e.g. safety) and culture (e.g. IoT sensors for temperature and humidity regulation for the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage). Now, researchers are working on utilization of IoT to create smart cities, where everything, either traffic lights or public transport have the ability to connect and communicate in a smart way.
