The Museum
The Museum of Informatics & Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens was founded in autumn 2019 within the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications.
Its collection and activities bring together the history of computing and telecommunications with the history of the Department, its research and the people who have worked and studied there.
About
The Museum is developing as a contemporary university museum dedicated to the preservation, study and interpretation of Informatics and Telecommunications.
Its subject reaches from the origins of modern computing to the technologies that shape everyday life today. The Museum places these developments in conversation with the history and research of the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications.
Its audiences include the university community, students and school groups, researchers and professionals, as well as visitors with a broader interest in technology and its history.
Living Lab
The Museum has also been conceived as a living lab, where members of the university community can participate in the creation of exhibits, projects and digital experiences.
This approach has already found expression through student work and experimental online projects connected with the Museum.
